We care about the Hong Kong protests because these protests determine the future of human rights and the future of democracy in Hong Kong. The stakes are extremely high as millions of Hongkongers could lose both their human rights and democratic freedoms. Many Hongkongers have called for international involvement and support for Hong Kong's democracy, however, there hasn't been a lot of international traction. Therefore, it's important that we stand with Hong Kong and support them in this fight against China, one of the most powerful countries on Earth.
